Hi there! My name is Tracy Gondo and I am the sole proprietor of Kitty Corner Cat Sitting.
An Oakland resident, I was inspired to start my business after noticing how few reliable cat sitters service the wonderful city I call home. With four special-needs cats of my own, I know first-hand how important (and difficult) it is to find experienced, detail-oriented care when I go on vacation. I also know how stressful it is to be separated from your cats, which is why I do my best to ease my client’s minds with detailed daily updates that include lots of photos, as well as the occasional video.
As someone who has always had multiple feline companions throughout her life, I always enjoy making new kitty-friends, which is part of the reason why I spent many years as a volunteer at Oakland Animal Services (OAS). From 2012-2016, I helped hundreds of homeless cats adjust to shelter life so they could find their forever homes. My work at OAS led me to foster regularly for Cat Town and Feral Change. Through fostering, I gained valuable experience caring for elderly cats, baby kittens, cats with special medical needs, shy cats, and cats with behavioral issues. I also became rather adept at adminstering all types of medications, including subcutaneous fluids, insulin and asthma inhalers.
I have six cats of my own ranging in age from 2 to 14 years old, all of whom were rescued from the streets of Oakland. When I’m not playing with cats, I love to bake, read, and watch movies. I’m also an avid hiker & National Park Geek who loves to escape to the Sierras as often as possible.
